In-Person

Private one-on-one
movement-based lessons

In-person one-on-one lessons are an especially good choice if you are new to movement-based practices.

When we meet in-person, we will focus on a series of slow, mindful movements guided with a gentle touch and very little verbal guidance.

This allows you to notice how you initiate your movements and how you maintain patterns of movement that restrict you

After you arrive, we’ll take time to talk together.

Hearing about your concerns and what you most want to experience as a result of our work together will help me to guide you as you explore movement patterns by recognizing your habitual movement patterns and integrating new movement patterns into your daily life.

During your lesson, I’ll ask questions that will help you notice the quality of your movement and what you are sensing, feeling and thinking as you move.

At the close of the lesson, we’ll talk about what you noticed and experienced.

This offers insight for planning our next lesson together and allows us to explore how to connect your discoveries and experiences into your daily life to meet your desired goal.

By repeating this learning process in our lessons together and connecting that process to what is happening in your life, your awareness for how to move, live and perform better will grow.

This video will give you ideas of what in-person lessons with my gentle touch look like. I gave this lesson to one of my colleagues to improve her reach and trunk rotation as she is a belly dancer.
The video is at 10 times speed.

“Yuka’s guidance helped me build internal confidence and address fear patterns that tend to “block” my brain from my body. All of these tools have contributed to help me to ground back into myself when I feel disconnected.”
